Meta Seeks to Introduce Next-Generation Ray-Ban Storytelling Glasses for Live Streamers

Meta is set to release an upgraded version of its Ray-Ban Stories glasses, targeting live streamers with new features. According to leaked information, the new glasses will allow wearers to directly stream video to Facebook and/or Instagram. Additionally, viewers will be able to communicate with the streamer through audio comments relayed via the built-in headphones.

For many live streamers, interacting with their audience is crucial for maintaining viewer engagement. Currently, streamers use their phones and device speakers to hear and respond to comments. However, this can be problematic in public settings where inappropriate comments can be read aloud. With the new Ray-Ban Stories glasses, streamers can interact with their audience privately while still being aware of their surroundings.

As more people aspire to become streamers, these upgraded glasses could attract a larger user base. The current version of Ray-Ban Stories already allows users to capture video, listen to music, and answer calls. Expanding these capabilities to streaming seems like a natural progression, although it will require significant development. While these updates may not make the camera-equipped glasses a must-have for most consumers, simplified content creation through direct streaming and private comments could lead to increased adoption.
